In January 2004, the Jenkins family decided to build their Longhorn base from Flying D Ranch, Rafter J Ranch, Semkin Longhorns, and Star Creek Ranch. Today George, Gerrie, and David Jenkins are a part of responsible breeders who continue to preserve the heritage of this hardy breed. Once driven to near extinction, the Texas Longhorn’s place in history is preserved and the breed continues to grow thanks to breeders like Bar J Ranch.
